Reasons for Exemption
Updates to the City's "Standard Drawings and Specifications" for off-street parking are exempt from CEQA review under
the "common sense exemption" (CEQA Guidelines Section 15061 {b)(3)) as the proposed updates provide standards for
mechanical and automated parking facilities and will not result in direct or indirect physical changes to the environment.
Any development that proposes a mechanical or automated parking facility will undergo environmental review on a
project specific basis at the time that the planning application is submitted.
