Document Description
The SJFD vegetation control program is an annual maintenance program that the field division performs to control growth of unwanted vegetation along the aqueduct roads, structures, and buildings. The SJFD vegetation control program is critical in meeting aqueduct visibility, accessibility, drainage requirements, and to protect the structural integrity of the aqueduct's embankments and structures. To control vegetation, herbicides are sprayed along aqueduct roads, fence-lines, bar/v-ditches, and buildings. Plant debris is also removed and burned at designated burn sites. The vegetation control program extends, on both sides of the aqueduct, from MP 172.58 to MP 293.45 of the State Water Project and from MP 0.00 to MP 14.84 of the Coastal Branch.
