The permit would allow diversion to underground storage of up to 11,959 acre-feet from the Westside Detention Basin in Fresno County during high flow events. The permit allows diversion to underground storage between date of issuance and June 30, 2023. Water stored underground would be extracted by overlying wells for municipal use within the 1,041-acre area inside the City of Huron boundary and for irrigation use within 5,657 acres of irrigated lands during the 2023 irrigation season.
