Document Description
The City of Redding (City) is proposing a public wastewater collection system for the Ricardo Avenue area. The purpose of the project is to improve water quality by replacing 34 private septic systems with sanitary sewer service. The project includes the installation of approximately 3,175 linear feet of sewer line, 8 manholes, and 34 sewer laterals. The project also includes the construction of a small lift station to accommodate the additional service area. Work would occur on Ricardo Avenue, Loma Vista Drive, El Portal Drive, El Cedro Avenue, Estate Street, and Joaquin Avenue. The sewer line and manholes would be constructed within the existing streets, and the sewer laterals would be installed in each private residential yard. If needed, the lift station would be constructed on a developed church parcel, or one of two undeveloped parcels along El Portal Drive. The undeveloped parcels are immediately adjacent to Interstate 5 and each provides flat terrain and open areas for construction. The project includes grading, trenching, minor vegetation removal, utility installation, building construction, electrical work, fencing, paving, signage, striping, and right of way acquisition.
