Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration
Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-SBR-20803-R6, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to
Southern California Edison.
The project involves replacing one 63.5-ft wood H-frame structure (Poles 4328247E and 4328248E) with a new
73.5-ft wood H-frame on the Kramer-Coolwater 115kV line. The replacement poles and caissons will be installed
immediately northwest of the existing structures. The existing H-frame will be removed while the existing caissons
will be left in place. The replacement H-frame will stand 73.5 feet above ground level, which is approximately 10
feet taller than the existing H-frame. Each pole will be embedded approximately 8.35 feet into the ground. The
caissons will consist of 36-inch diameter corrugated steel casings 33 feet in length, embedded 28 feet in the
ground and extending 5 feet above ground in order to accommodate maximum potential flow levels with the
riverbed. Sack slurry backfill and concrete will be used to secure the H-frame poles within the caissons. The area
of soil disturbance will be limited to an approximate 10-foot radius around each pole, as well as a general 25-foot
radius temporary work area around the pole for the staging and operation of construction tools and equipment.
