Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes repairing the Mokelumne River bridge (Bridge No. 29-0043) on State Route (SR) 12 at post mile 0.01, in San Joaquin County. The scope of work includes replacing the deteriorating timber framing, walkway boards, spacers, and walkway around the bridge control room. The deteriorated diagonal sheathing and walers will be replaced with new High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) materials. In addition, a non-operable pedestrian gate will be repaired, and a marine traffic clearance sign will be installed. All work will occur within the existing Caltrans Right of Way. The purpose of this project is to restore function to damaged and failing bridge components. The project is needed to ensure the safety of travelers across the bridge and safety of those operating the bridge.
