The City of Los Angeles, acting by and through the Department of Public Works, Los Angeles Sanitation and Environment and Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, proposes to change the place of use and purpose of use of up to 4,820 acre-feet per year of recycled water. The City of Los Angeles intends to seek authorization from the State Water Resources Control Board to recirculate recycled water in the Japanese Garden Lake back to the DC Tillman Water Reclamation Plant and to recharge the San Fernando Basin. If authorized, this would result in decreased discharges into the Los Angeles River.
