Document Description
Project involves the removal of unauthorized accessways, strengthening of gate infrastructure, and shaded fuel break construction in the upper San Lorenzo watershed in Castle Rock State Park to curb unauthorized cannabis cultivation. Work will utilize Proposition 64 funding which provides for “cleanup, remediation, and restoration of environmental damage in watersheds affected by marijuana cultivation”. Work will:
• Excavate 2.5 cubic yards to secure two (2) 6-inch posts in concrete and install a steel gate;
• Replace two (2) wooden vehicle bridges (SCH No. 2016128009);
• Create approximately 30.6 acres of shaded fuel breaks along service roads and trails; and
• Remove an abandoned roadway by excavating approximately 1418 cubic yards of fill material, placing the excavated material into the road cut, compacting the fill and regrading to slope.
