Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to make improvements on State Route (SR) 99 in the City of Sacramento in response to the Clean California State Beautification Program of 2021 authorized under Assembly Bill 149. The improvements would occur at 11 locations and four pedestrian overcrossings on SR 99 between post miles (PM) 17.2 and 24.22. The existing fencing on structures along SR 99 is old and not very appealing. The existing soundwalls have spot locations that are covered in anti-graffiti paint. Undercrossing locations are not well lit and invite homelessness and/or illegal activities. The purpose of the proposed project is to improve safety for the travelling public, pedestrians, and Caltrans personnel as well as improve the aesthetics along SR 99 between PM 17.2 and 24.2.
