Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to make improvements at the State Route (SR) 51 and SR160 separator in the City of Sacramento between post miles at PM 3.63. The proposed improvements would be made in response to the Clean California State Beautification Program of 2021 authorized under Assembly Bill 149. The purpose of the proposed project is to advance equity for underserved communities by enhancing the appearance of the facilities at the SR 51/SR 160 separator and increase safety by preventing unauthorized access into the bridge through the soffit and addressing erosion issues on the slopes. The SR 51/SR 160 separator structure soffit access was breached, creating a public hazard if someone enters the structure. The slopes of the abutment show signs of erosion from water draining off the bridge.
