Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to make improvements at two interchanges in the City of Sacramento in response to the Clean California State Beautification Program of 2021 authorized under Assembly Bill 149. The retaining walls, structures, and sound wall surfaces have visually deteriorated at the postmiles mentioned above. The proposed project includes the following improvements: Location 1 includes remove existing recycled glass, installing inert material with aesthetic design, metal art, aesthetic fencing that expresses unique attributes of the community identity, updating paint on retaining wall. Location 2 includes installing inert material, aesthetic fencing, painting retaining wall and beneath overcrossing, and repainting sound wall with art/pattern. The purpose of this proposed project is to advance equity for underserved communities by enhancing the appearance of the facilities at two locations in Sacramento and to upgrade cable railing for safety at Location 1.
