Document Description
Caltrans is proposing a project that will remove the northbound free-right turn on State Route 14 in north Mojave which will reduce the speed of turning vehicles and make travel safer for pedestrians and bicycles. The project will include aesthetic sidewalk paving, widened sidewalk, enhanced crosswalks, dedicated bike lane between the right-turn and through lanes, inert landscaping materials (boulders, gravel, rock), pedestrian actuated push buttons for crossing, a dedicated pedestrian crossing phase, and will provide an opportunity for a transportation art installation. The landscaping and aesthetic features will be coordinated and consistent with the Mojave Vision Plan published in March 2013. All work will occur on previously disturbed areas and existing Caltrans Right of Way.
