Document Description
The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (Metropolitan) is applying for a permit for the Demonstration Facility for the Regional Recycled Water Advanced Purification Center from the Air Quality Management District. The Demonstration Facility is located at the Joint Water Pollution Control Plant, in the city of Carson. Metropolitan proposes to perform scientific and technical investigative studies and minor alterations to the existing Demonstration Facility required for the permit. The investigative studies would utilize various source water (primary, secondary, tertiary) to evaluate the effectiveness and suitability of various treatment techniques (membrane bioreactor, reverse osmosis, ultraviolet/advanced oxidation processes and treatment trains) to comply with Safe Drinking Water Standards and State and Federal codes.
