Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is proposing to install a lateral under drain system in Placer County, on State Route (SR) 267 from two miles south of Martis Dam Road to Martis Peak Road. This project is needed to collect pooling groundwater and snowmelt stormwater that emanate from the roadway cut slopes and flow underneath the pavement, which ultimately pipes out through cracks and joints onto the roadway, thus encroaching onto the travel way. This leads to icing on the travel way which causes pavement deterioration and the potential for hydroplaning and therefore this project will provide safety for drivers to travel along SR 267 and will also prevent structural deterioration.
