Document Description
This proposed project involves the development of approximately 885 acres of undeveloped land into a photovoltaic (PV) solar power facility which includes the installation of PV solar panels, battery energy storage system (BESS) facilities, and interconnection facilities, including a high voltage substation, switch station, and interconnection to the existing SMUD transmission system. The Project will result in impacts to 0.75 acres of burrowing owl (Athene cunicularia) habitat including temporary impacts to 0.5 acres; the Project will permanently remove 0.25 acres of Burrowing owl habitat. The project is expected to result in incidental take of burrowing owl, which is designated as a Candidate species under the California Endangered Species Act. The ITP referenced above as issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of Project implementation.
