Document Description
The draft Housing Element Update consists of a comprehensive update to the Housing Element of the City of San Gabriel General Plan. State law requires that housing elements are updated every eight years (California Government Code Sections 65580 to 65589.11). The draft Housing Element Update identifies residential sites adequate to accommodate a variety of housing types for all income levels and needs of special population groups, defined under State law (California Government Code Section 65583).A residential rezone program will be implemented to adequately meet the City's assigned RHNA. The Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) was tasked with allocating the RHNA among the jurisdictions in the SCAG region, which includes the City of San Gabriel. San Gabriel's RHNA for the current planning period is 3,023 units. For San Gabriel, the 6th Cycle planning period runs from October 15, 2021 through October 15, 2029.
