Document Description
The proposed project consists of a 32.8-acre open parcel at the west end of the Airport. It will be paved and used to store trucks and containers at heights below 35 feet. The parking area will be engineered to provide adequate support for the equipment being stored at this location, and will include installation of appropriate short- and long-term water quality management for before any surface runoff is discharged from the project site. The action outlined above is defined as the “proposed project” in this evaluation. If this proposed project is implemented, the Agency will initiate construction as soon as engineering for the parking facility can be completed; construction can be completed; and opened for operation.

series of Statutory Exemptions for actions that have been deemed by the State Legislature to be exempt (not subject to) from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). The proposed installation of Truck/Container Parking Area Project at the Airport within a highly disturbed, public right-of-way has been determined to qualify for a Statutory Exemption under the State CEQA Guidelines, Section 15269(c). The proposed parking lot installation and its operation have been determined to not fall under the jurisdiction of CEQA and the State CEQA Guidelines because these activities fall within the scope of the criteria listed in Section 15269(c). Therefore, this action qualifies with the requirements for a Statutory Exemption in compliance with this section of the State CEQA Guidelines.
