Document Description
Upgrade the water distribution system at D.L. Bliss SP to enhance visitor services and ensure visitor safety. Project entails excavating a trench 2’ wide x 5’ deep x 15,204’ long and install 15,204 linear feet of 8” watermain pipe. Approximately 14,859 lineal feet will entail excavating underneath existing asphalt and gravel roads while approximately 345 linear feet of excavation outside of the existing asphalt or gravel road. Two bore pits 40’ long x 12’ wide x 4’ deep, will be excavated on either side of State Highway 89 from which horizontal directional drilling under State Highway 89 right-of-way will be performed for a total distance of approximately 90’ feet. Additionally, approximately 18 new fire hydrants will be installed along the watermain.

The project consists of replacement or reconstruction of existing utility systems and/or facilities involving negligible or no expansion of capacity, and the minor public alterations in the condition of land and/or vegetation which do not involve removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees except for forestry or agricultural purposes, including minor trenching and backfilling where the surface is restored, in accordance with CCR § 15300.4.
