Document Description
DWR will trench to place power streetlights running along the rear of BAPP. Staff will cut trench with a ride on trencher to a minimum depth of 18" required to install electrical conduit. The length will be approximately 150 feet. The cuttings will temporarily rest on top of the soil while conduit and wiring are placed between light posts. Staff will backfill trench with material that was removed during the cutting with the use of a skid steer and hand tools. Skid steer will be used to level ground at site prior to trenching. Staging will be on paved parking and roadway adjacent to project area. All work is within DWR right-of-way.

Reasons for Exemption
The State Water Project provides significant and important services to many Californians. This project is exempt because it involves routine maintenance activities. This project will not result in impacts to special status species or habitat. Because this activity can be implemented without any significant environmental impacts, the Categorical Exemption Class 1 will be used for CEQA compliance.
