Document Description
DESCRIPTION OF THE NATURE AND PURPOSE OF PROJECT: The project will install new security fencing to protect the Silvercrest and Doane Pond drinking water holding tanks at Palomar Mountain State Park as required by California State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB). The need was identified by the SWRCB during a sanitary survey conducted in 2020. A 6’ high commercial grade galvanized steel security fence will be constructed around the perimeter of the two drinking water holding tanks. The fencing will be a 10’ to 12' perimeter around the tanks totaling about 280 linear feet. (Measurements include a buffer to allow some play in the layout for necessary adjustments during construction.) Two 6' gates will be installed on the roadside for access to the tanks. There will be approximately 2' X 2' holes dug every 8' for the steel field posts and 2'X3' holes dug at the four corner posts and two for the gateposts. There may be some light brushing needed to install the fence but will not be outside of what is required for fire defensible space.
