Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes upgrading the Traffic Management System (TMS) equipment at various locations in San Joaquin (SJ) County on Interstate (I) 5, from Post Mile (PM) R14.5 to R21.4. The scope of work includes replacement of cabinets and controllers using hand tools and possibly a truck-mounted crane. The existing foundation for the cabinets and/or controllers may also be replaced. All work will occur within Caltrans existing Right of Way. The purpose of this project is to improve real-time communication regarding existing traffic conditions to both Caltrans and the traveling public. The project is needed to ensure safe operation of the State Highway System.
