The project is a 4.5-mile bicycle/pedestrian system along the Santa Cruz Branch Rail Line, from 17th Avenue on the west to State Park Drive on the east. The purpose is to provide an accessible bicycle/pedestrian path for active transportation, recreation, and environmental and cultural education along the existing rail corridor, consistent with the Monterey Bay Sanctuary Scenic Trail Network Master Plan.
