Document Description
This NOE identifies why Placer RCD is proposing the qualification of an exemption from a comprehensive CEQA analysis under the Class 4 category for minor alterations to land. The project involves a low intensity prescribed underburn on approximately 15 acres of forestland. Under a specified prescription, the burn will have low velocity and minimal heat, resulting only in the combustion of fine fuels and not threatening the forest ecosystem. The proposed project will not result in the taking of endangered, rare, or threatened plant or animal species or result in significant erosion and sedimentation of surface waters. The proposed project area has undergone archaeological and biological surveys prior to burning through the CAL FIRE CFIP program. Refer to CA 14 CCR Section 15304.
