Document Description
Project proposes to replace and reconnect the underground water lines at Cascade Ranch in Año Nuevo State Park damaged during the August 2020 CZU fire. Work will: • Excavate five (5) 2ft x 2ft x 2ft holes for new and/or replacement valve boxes; • Install two (2) replacement concrete valve boxes north of the water treatment plant; • Install three (3) new concrete valve boxes adjacent to the horse barn area; • Excavate a 6in x 2ft x 25ft long trench and install new PVC waterline that will be connected to existing intact water lines; • Excavate a separate 6in x 2ft x 200ft long trench near the Humphrey House, install new PVC waterline and connect to intact water lines; and • Install a single fire hydrant along the water line near the Humphrey House.

Project consists of the operation, repair, and maintenance of existing public or private structures involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond current levels, included as “utility repairs or minor upgrades” in the Department of Parks and Recreation’s list of exempt activities in accordance with CCR §15300.4; the replacement or reconstruction of existing structures where the new structure will be located on the same site as the structure replaced and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced; the construction and location of limited numbers of new, small facilities or structures, and the minor public or private alterations in the condition of land and/or vegetation which do not involve removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees.
