Document Description
The effects of the 2020 Creek Fire significantly increased the likelihood of large debris flows in the Sierra Nevada Mountains along the upper San Joaquin River watershed. The purpose of the Project is to reduce potential debris flow risk for critical hydro-electric at risk from debris flow damage. Debris flow barriers will be installed at three locations. The debris flow fences are designed to dissipate debris surge energy and reduce the volume of debris that could potentially impact critical hydroelectric facilities downstream.
