Document Description
ABL Space Systems (ABL) proposes to operate the RS1 launch program at Launch Complex 576-E (LC 576-E) on VSFB, and perform associated infrastructure improvements at LC 576-E. The purpose of the Proposed Action, which supports National Space Policy compliance, is to provide reliable U.S. enterprise access to space through an efficient and deployable ground-based launch system with minimal infrastructure requirements. ABL's program helps fulfill the requirements of commercial and governmental entities in the small satellite orbital and suborbital market; namely, to provide small, responsive, efficient, commercially focused, and low-cost launch vehicles. The RS1 vehicle and Ground Support Operations design minimizes the need for ground infrastructure and would enable ABL to efficiently conduct lower cost VSFB launch missions to support commercial and government clients. ABL proposes to conduct up to 12 launches per year of the RS1 vehicle from LC 576-E.
