Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement (EPIMS-SON-44673-R3), pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 1602, to the project Applicant, Sonoma County Regional Parks.
The project is limited to constructing two separate segments of the California Coastal Trail (CCT). The two trail segments are approximately 2.5 miles apart and consist of the 1.1-mile Kashia Coastal Reserve Trail and the 0.9-mile Stewarts Point Trail. Both segments are located west of State Highway 1 on a gently sloping to rolling coastal terrace.
Crossings will be installed across seasonal drainages (i.e., unnamed tributaries) on both segments. Drainage and wetland crossing features will be constructed along both trails.
The project will require construction of three puncheon bridges, two clear-span bridges, three minor drainage lenses, one armored rock ford, and three culvert extensions. The project will result in approximately 135 square feet (86 linear feet) of permanent impacts and approximately 420 square feet (165 linear fee) of temporary impacts to riparian habitat. No trees will be removed as part of this project.
