Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has Notification of Lake or Streambed
Alteration, EPIMS Notification No. RIV-12306-R6, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to The
Nature Conservancy.
The Project is limited to the restoration and monitoring of 55 acres of Temecula Creek and Pechanga Creek. The
goals of the restoration project are to address ongoing threats to wildlife through enhancement of water and habitat
quality. The restoration activities that are proposed to reach these goals include: a)surveys to document baseline
vegetation, wildlife use, noise, water quality and human disturbance; b) invasive species plant control; c) riparian
habitat restoration; d) fencing and signage to prevent unauthorized public access; e) noise abatement measures for
the State Route 15 Temecula Creek Bridge; f) an eight-year restoration, trespass, water quality, and noise
monitoring and maintenance plan; and g) a long-term, 25-year, multi-agency management and monitoring plan.
Equipment that will be used for restoration activities within the creek bed include string-trimmers, herbicide
backpack sprayers, chainsaws, and shovels
