Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed the Right of Entry Permit to the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) for the DWR Bale Storage for the State of California’s Salton Sea Management Program (Project). The Project is limited to providing DWR and/or their contractors access to the Imperial Wildlife Area, Wister Unit, hay bale storage site (Site), improving access roads as needed, storage of approximately 170,000 hay bales at the Site, installation of a “track out” plate at entrance, dust suppression by a water truck during delivery days, installation of temporary fencing around the Site, and unarmed security patrols at the Site seven days a week from dusk to dawn for the duration of bale storage. Storage is anticipated to not exceed approximately four months. Bales are to be used for the State of California’s Salton Sea Management Program.
