Several project workspaces are planned, beginning approximately 10 miles west of Blythe, California, to 16 miles east of Coachella, California. All Project workspaces are in unincorporated Riverside County. The Project workspaces roughly follow the alignment of Interstate 10.

Reasons for Exemption
The Project falls within the CEQA exemptions per section 15301 (Existing Facilities) and section 15304 (Minor Alterations to Land). The purpose of the Project is to perform maintenance of existing 30-inch natural gas pipelines, through hydrostatic testing, replacement of pipeline anomalies and pipe exposures, and valve and tap isolations. The Project will entail some minor excavation to access the pipelines. The Project also involves repairs to existing unpaved access roads along the pipeline alignment. Southern California Gas Company will restore the Project workspaces to pre-construction conditions, and provide soil stabilization and reseeding of the Project area. No exceptions to the Exemptions apply.
