Document Description
The Central Plant 1st Floor UREA project will replace and upgrade existing equipment in the Central Utility Plant. The project will upgrade the existing emissions reduction system to meet Sacramento Water Quality regulatory requirements, remodel and update existing support space for Room 30001, remove existing anhydrous ammonia catalyzing equipment, upgrade existing electrical system and control panels to accommodate new equipment, and install new 500 gallon Dry Tank.

This project is an interior renovation of existing space and equipment with little to no expansion in current use. This project qualifies as categorically exempt under Exemption Class 1 of the Guidelines for the Implementation to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). This exemption applies to the operation, repair, maintenance or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities or mechanical equipment, involving negligible or no expansion of the existing use. In addition, none of the exceptions for application of a categorical exemption apply to this project.
