Document Description
Gibson Renewables, LLC is seeking to construct and operate an up to 20 megawatt alternating current (MWac) solar photovoltaic (PV) electricity generating facility with a 6.5 MWac/26 megawatt hour (MWh) to 13 MWac/52 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) called Gibson Solar Farm (“Project”) on approximately 147 acres of land 1.2 miles east of Esparto in unincorporated Yolo County. This proposed Project is a request for a Use Permit to construct and operate the Solar Farm. The electricity generated by the PV field will be used in part for charging the batteries and the remaining energy generated by the PV field will be delivered to the grid. The proposed Project has a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Valley Clean Energy (VCE), a community choice aggregation (CCA) public agency that focuses on providing its 150,000 customers with cost-competitive renewable energy and local reinvestment.
