Document Description
Pacific Power is proposing maintenance activities on their existing 12.47 kilovolt overhead distribution line. The reconductoring work is the outcome of Pacific Power's continued wildfire mitigation program of system hardening in California in accordance with Pacific Power's California Wildfire Mitigation Plan and California Bill 901 and the new provisions of California Public Utilities Code (CPUC) Section 8386. Project activities consist of reconductoring the line with a spacer cable system, updating system protection and other equipment as needed, replacement of two utility poles, replacement of guys and anchors at two existing utility poles, installation of five new guys and anchors at one existing utility pole, overhead reconductoring at three highway crossing locations, and the removal of one overhead highway crossing. Caltrans would issue an encroachment permit to all the proposed work to occur within the State Right of Way.

Caltrans has determined that the project is categorically exempt in accordance with Section 15301 (Exisitng Facilities) Class 1 -- Operations, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of existing or former use. The project would not have a significant effect on the environment.
