Project activities include routine maintenance for the removal of vegetation within the bed and bank of the Daulton Creek Diversion, to prevent backing up and overtopping of flows. Vegetation removal will occur no more than once per year. Each routine maintenance project may include the removal of all vegetation types, including trees, brushy vegetation, and grasses/herbaceous plants. Vegetation removal will be conducted using chainsaws, shovels, loppers, and/or other hand-operated tools, and cut material will be removed from the site. All vegetation removal will occur by cutting, and no ground disturbance will occur. Tree stumps will remain in place after trees are removed. An aquatic herbicide may be used on willow (Salix sp.) or alder (Alnus sp.) stumps to reduce resprouting.
