Document Description
Notice of exemption for Coastal Conservancy Approval of Grant Funding: Nature For All will expand its existing All Aboard for Nature pilot program, with the overarching goal of increasing equitable access to natural areas in and around Los Angeles for the region’s most disadvantaged communities that have been especially hard hit by the Covid-19 pandemic. The program will provide a total of 12 free wellness-focused coastal trips for 150 community members that will include transportation, accommodations for those with disabilities, family-friendly and educational activities, meals, and interpretation from bilingual naturalists. Activities will vary depending on location but will include a hike during which participants will learn about the environment of the area being visited, followed by time for journaling, an activity like a nature-based scavenger hunt, and a closing meditation. In closing, participants are invited to join one of Nature for All’s Leadership Development Programs, to gain further experience in environmental stewardship, careers, and training in raising awareness of environmental issues and community activism.
