Reasons for Exemption
The project is exempt under 15301 Existing Facilities of the CEQA Guidelines because it involves negligible/no expansion of the existing facility. The equipment will be placed inside the existing structure and a conveyor belt wi ll be adjoined to the structure and cover less than 2,500 square feet and will not result in an increase of more than 50% of the floor area of the structures. The project is more than 100 ft from the nearest ESHA and will have no/less than significant environmental impacts. It will improve the quality of the recreation experience on the coastal trail through odor abatement and reduce greenhouse gas emission.
