Document Description
Modernization will include repairs, modifications, alterations and/or upgrades to interior & exterior finishes, electrical, low voltage, structural, mechanical, plumbing, & roofing systems to existing facilities and other related site work. Other site related work includes drainage, landscaping, play fields, hardscape, pathways, signage, fencing & gates. Abatement of hazardous materials is also included in the project. Scope of work may also include the replacement of an existing lunch shelter.

Reasons for Exemption
Class 1 Exemption: The project only requires minor alterations to existing public structures involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond that which previously existed. There is no reasonable probability that the project would have significant effect on the environment due to unusual circumstances because the site is already developed as a K-8 school. Class 2 Exemption: The project consists of replacement of reconstruction of existing structures and facilities where the new structure will be located on the same site as the structure replaced and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced.
