Document Description
Weather-proof the northern garage space of the Hearst Castle Fire Department at the Hearst San Simeon State Historic Monument to allow for continued use as a gym and locker room by fire fighter security officers. Work will: - Remove the non-historic garage door. - Install wooden 2” x 4” wall framing on the interior of the garage and across the door opening, anchoring these new walls to the concrete floor with epoxied anchor bolts. - Cover the exposed outer wall across the door opening with a matched, non-functional garage door façade. - Install a faux ceiling, attached to the new wood-framed walls, and insulate all wall and ceiling spaces; and - Finish interior walls and ceiling with sheetrock with plaster joints, and paint.
