Document Description
City Surf Project’s Surfing 101 program is a 3-week surfing program provided throughout the school year that will serve approximately 125 vulnerable and foster youth in San Francisco in partnership with four local high schools and five Community Based Organizations (CBOs). The program will provide transportation, equipment, and snacks, as well as introductory surf instruction for school teachers, students, including those with disabilities, and CBOs. Surfing lessons and instructions will be used as vehicles to foster connections to nature, build healthy lifestyle habits, help participants find personal growth, and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. To encourage relationship amongst participants, each surfing session will begin and end with community circles and feature small staff to student ratios.
