Document Description
The UC Davis Campus proposes to remove approximately 150 trees dead or dying trees. These trees have been identified by a certified arborist as life safety threats due to tree death and/or structural decay. The trees will be removed throughout the month of September 2021. This project is required maintenance of Campus public spaces and will address life safety issues.

This project qualifies as categorically exempt under Exemption Class 1 of the Guidelines for the Implementation to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). This exemption applies to the operation, repair, maintenance or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities or mechanical equipment, involving negligible or no expansion of the existing use. In addition, none of the exceptions for application of a categorical exemption apply to this project.
