Document Description
The project is limited to installing a 27-foot long, 12-inch diameter corrugated metal pipe (CMP) at the Stornetta Stockpond (Pond) dam outlet. The purpose of the project is to reduce the Pond’s capacity from 12 acre-feet to 10- acre-feet, as required by the State Water Resources Control Board’s Cease and Desist Order (WR 2018-0088).
The new CMP will be installed within the existing rock wall at the Pond outlet. To install the CMP within the existing rock wall, an approximately 1.5-foot wide section of the rock wall will be saw cut and removed. The new CMP will be installed at the base of the cut and backfilled with compacted soil and gravel to match the elevation of the top of the rock wall. At the inlet to the new CMP, an approximately 1.5-foot long, 4-foot wide, 5-foot high, concrete weir box will be installed to be able to measure rate of flow. In front of the concrete weir box, an approximately 6.5-foot wide portion of an existing concrete headwall will be removed and replaced with a 6.5-foot long steel grate with 6-inch bar spacing.
