Document Description
The project is limited to constructing a new outfall pipe to carry overflow from the ‘Elliot-Smith Pond’ to the ‘Western Ravine’. The existing 75-foot long, 12-inch diameter corrugated plastic outfall pipe, and approximately 65 square feet of existing rock rip rap at the pipe inlet, will be removed. At the existing pipe outlet within the ‘Main Gully’, approximately 440 square feet of rip rap will be retained in place. In the same approximate location of the existing pipe that will be removed, an approximately 25-foot long, 38-inch by 24-inch reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) will be installed within the Elliot-Smith Pond. The new RCP culvert inlet will have a concrete headwall, wingwalls, apron, and cut-off wall. At the outlet of the RCP culvert, a 3-foot by 4-foot junction box will be installed. The junction box will have two outlets: 1) A new approximately 46-foot long, 8-inch diameter corrugated metal pipe (CMP) culvert will
convey water to the Main Ravine, and 2) a 24-inch diameter CMP will convey water to the Western Ravine. Additionally, an approximately 18-inch high, 63-foot long earthen berm faced on the pond side with 4- to 8-inch diameter rock rip rap will be constructed.
