Scour protection will involve extending pre-existing slope paving along half of Abutment 1 on the south bank of the slough. The project also consists of placing a three-inch thick pile encasement for eight columns at Bent 3. The encasement will extend two feet below and four feet above the streambed. Finally, the project will include the placement of rock slope protection (RSP) in an approximately 24-foot by 25-foot area at the southeast slope, adjacent to the bridge, to repair existing and prevent further erosion.
