Document Description
The project includes the construction of solar carport system on existing parking lots (Lot C and E and Evans Field) end solar roof-mounted canopy system on top of a parking structure. Three (3) Battery energy storage systems (BESS) would also be installed on campus in a disturbed, paved area. Additionally, underground electrical conduits would be construction in disturbed, paved areas. The solar panels would connect to the existing underground electrical conduit loop. See figure, Riverside City College-Solar Plan, attached.

The proposed parking Lot C and E and Evans Field solar carport system and parking structure solar roof-mounted canopy system , BESS, and underground electrical conduits ere exempt under CEQA Statute 21060.35. The parking lot solar arrays would be added to existing parking lots and perking garages. BESS and underground electrical conduits would ell be contained in previously disturbed, paved areas no greater than 500 square feet in area and not Impacting any plants protected by the Native Plant Protection Act or requiring the removal of any native trees over 25 years old.
