Document Description
Construct two data center buildings totaling approximately 438,500 square feet, an onsite switchyard, and a new utility substation. The data center would be supplied electricity by Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E). Interconnection of the new substation to the distribution grid would require PG&E to install approximately 3 new electric transmission poles and approximately 1,000 linear feet of new overhead 115 kilovolt transmission line. Backup generation would be supplied by fifty 2.5 megawatt (MW) diesel-fired emergency backup generators. The maximum backup generating capacity would be limited to the maximum load for the data center buildings (96 MW). The project would also include two Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) facilities, each with a current maximum estimated storage capacity of up to 50 MW and up to 670 megawatt-hour discharge capacity.
