Document Description
This project proposes to upgrade and reposition the traffic signals at both intersections to current standards which includes the removal of the existing median traffic signal poles on SR 35, and installation of a mast-arm traffic signal pole at each corner. This project also proposes to enhance pedestrian accessibility by upgrading all existing curb ramps to Highway Project standards. The purpose of is to reduce the frequency and severity of collisions on SR 35 y upgrading traffic signals to current standards which will prevent vehicles from hitting existing median traffic signal poles and reduce maintenance worker exposure. This project is needed because a total of 33 collisions have occurred at Location 1 from 2009 to 2014 and 30 collisions at Location 2 from 2010 to 2014.
