Document Description
The project proposes to remove the existing pier structure and replace it with an 8x8 ft. deck, 3x30 ft. gangway and a 16x16 ft. covered boatlift. The total combined area of the deck, pier and boatlift is 410 square feet. The project includes removing 16 wood pilings and driving 10 metal pilings. There are no tules present in the project area therefore there will be no impacts to tules. Work in the lake will occur between October 15 and December 31. The project will further require a lakebed encroachment permit from Lake County Water Resources Department and a building permit from the Building Department.

Reasons for Exemption
Class 1 – Existing Facilities. The project proposes repair and replacement of a private accessory structure. Sixteen (16) wood pilings will be removed. Class 3 – New Construction. The project proposes to install ten (10) new metal pilings to support the new covered boatlift and deck. No littoral vegetation will be removed. All work in the lake will occur between October 15 and December 31. The project will not result in significant adverse environmental effects to wetlands or riparian habitats. The Lake County Community Development Department has determined that the project will not have a significant effect on the environment and is, therefore, exempt from the provisions of CEQA.
