Document Description
DWR will work with Contractor HDR to inspect the gated and emergency spillways at Pyramid Dam. HDR will set up rope access to inspect the inclined section of the gated spillway. DWR will walk the flat section of the emergency spillway as well as along the toe on the side of Piru Creek farther away from the spillways. Overall drone imagery for the spillways and surrounding slopes will be collected to assist with the inspection. Inspectors will utilize rock hammers and cameras to conduct the inspection. To the extent possible, staging will be on roadways and improved lots. All work is within DWR right of way.

Reasons for Exemption
The State Water Project provides significant and important services to many Californians. This project is exempt because it involves data collection activities for a safe water supply. This project will not result in impacts to special status species or habitat. Because this activity can be implemented without any significant environmental impacts, the Categorical Exemption Class 6 will be used for CEQA compliance.
