Document Description
Control eucalyptus in the Devil’s Gulch area of Samuel P. Taylor State Park to reduce fire threat and improve native biodiversity. Work will: • Have tree professionals climb, cut, limb and top eucalyptus trees; • Use cables to lower large cut pieces to minimize damage to adjacent native trees; • Use basal bark and cut surface methods to apply limited herbicide to the trunks of the standing trees and to the stumps after removal, to prevent re-sprouting; and • Lop and scatter cut materials, haul material to green waste, and/or pile burn, if feasible, to dispose of slash.
