Midpen has developed the Program Manual to describe the various projects conducted by Midpen. Program activities include 3 general categories: (1) routine maintenance activities (e.g., culvert repair, vegetation/sediment removal, road/trail maintenance, etc.); (2) small-scale facility improvements (e.g., bridge relocations, trail re-routes etc.); and (3) restoration and enhancement activities (e.g., removal of in-stream infrastructure, native vegetation plantings, pond and stream restoration, etc.)

The Program area includes Midpen’s Sphere of Influence, consisting of approximately 236,233 acres in northern Santa Clara and southern San Mateo counties, and a small portion of Santa Cruz County. Within the Program area, Midpen protects over 64,000 acres of open space in the South Bay and San Francisco Peninsula. Most of these lands are located in 26 OSPs in the Santa Cruz Mountains.
